My Review

I have never read a book about unicorns before, so I was very intrigued to read this one! In this world, unicorns are real. The are mistical creatures that live in the woods and can only be seen by virgins. Unknown to most, their blood has magical healing properties, but there is a darker side to its properties as well. With the right dosage, a person can become exremely addicted to unicorn blood. All of this is unknown to Cal when she starts her training as a unicorn hunter. She doesn’t want to hunt unicorns, but she knows she needs to make money for her family. But it turns out that when Cal signed up to be a hunter, she was thrust into a world of secrets, intrigue, and danger.

This book was super interesting. Like I said I have never read a book about unicorns before, and I definitely think I want to read more in the future. This book was so much more than a simple story about girls hunting unicorns.

I absolutely loved Cal right from the start. She is firey and fiesty and never afraid to speak her mind. She is also in love with her childhood best friend Adryan. I really loved the casual f/f representation and romance. It was really well woven into the story even though the romance was not the central plot.

Overall, I really liked this book! There were some times where I found myself getting bored, but almost immediately after it started to pick up again. If you are looking for a super cool story about unicorns featuring strong women and a f/f romance, this is absolutely the book for you!
